Dear Round Meadow Families,
This week Round Meadow Elementary will be participating in National No Name Calling Week. There will be morning announcements on the topic of name calling and teachers have been given some resources to help address the issue in their classrooms. We would like our students to focus on not using hurtful names this week and to help them understand that words can often hurt just as much as, if not more than, physical acts of aggression. The following link has more information on this national event: http://www.nonamecallingweek.org. We will also have a guest speaker at our Friday assembly. Jesse London is an elementary student who was recently diagnosed with Alopecia. Jesse wants to raise awareness of Alopecia and teach kids to be compassionate towards everyone. We are excited to have him come to Round Meadow this week! You can see his comic book here to learn more about him and his journey.
I know that many teachers discussed Dr. King’s contributions in class this past week and I would
encourage you to continue the discussion at home. I hope that the three-day weekend gave you some quality family time and helped to realize Dr. King’s vision that we all work to serve and better our communities.
Thank you and have a good week. GO COLTS!
Round Meadow Elementary, Principal
